对恶劣的人必须要清理
Stay Clear of the Despicable
如今，值得信赖的人少之又少，
In this day and age, there are fewer and fewer people who are worthy of trust.
因此，当我们做重大事情时，
Thus, when we are carrying out important endeavors,
不要随便宣扬，应以秘密的方式去做，这样就不容易遇到违缘。
we should not publicize it casually but do things in a discreet way so that we are less likely to encounter obstacles.
除此之外，我们还需要具备猛厉的行为和怀柔的能力，
We must be able to be fierce in our actions and possess magnetizing abilities.
对自方慈悲，对敌人勇敢，
Be compassionate to our own, be courageous when facing an enemy,
并能辨别他人的行为是好是坏。
and be able to discriminate between the good and bad in others’actions.
从历史上看，许多众生的惨烈痛苦，有时就是一两个人的恶行造成的。
Looking at history, we see that the tragic, violent suffering of many was sometimes caused by the evil actions of just one or two people.
所以，对于这种恶人，尤其是十恶不赦的人，
Hence, these kinds of villains, especially those who have committed irredeemably evil deeds,
必须要立即舍弃，
must immediately be cast out.
不然就会毁坏国家和团体。
Otherwise they will destroy their community and their nation.
包括在佛教中，对于性情极其恶劣的众生，若以柔和的方式无法度化，
Within Buddhism, if living beings of extremely despicable character cannot be tamed using gentle means,
那在慈悲心的前提下，佛菩萨必须示现威猛的行为加以降伏，
then with compassion and loving-kindness, buddhas and bodhisattvas must employ fierce actions to subdue them.
这也符合世间的正规。
This also conforms to worldly rules.
在许多君主教言中也讲过：
In the teachings of many rulers,
对于不愿悔改的恶人，
it is said that for villains who are unwilling to repent and change,
除了砍杀身体外，
apart from slashing and killing the body,
其他的惩治手段如捆缚、鞭打等，都允许使用。
any other punishments such as constraint and whipping are permitted.
假如国王判一个人死刑，
If a king sentences a person to death,
作为上师理应劝谏，
that king’s Dharma teacher ought to speak out and persuade him against it.
但国王若以其他方式来制裁，这时上师也不必劝阻。
But if a king uses other means to punish, then the Dharma teacher does not need to stop him.
可见，为了国家的安全、众生的安乐，
As you can see, for a nation’s safety and for all living beings’ peace and happiness,
对恶劣之人采取严厉的行为，有时候也是需要的。
sometimes it is necessary to take drastic action against contemptible beings.
